1841 Cornish Census for Collorian, Ludgvan. This census finds Mary 55 looking after her elderly father Richard who at that time was 85. Mary was employed as an agricultural labourer.

1851 Cornish Census for Canon’s Town, Ludgvan. Mary is now on her own being described as the House holder of 72 years. This census confirms Mary’s place of birth as Ludgvan. With Mary are two lodgers in Richard Petherick 40, a highway labourer and Henry Jackman 35, a rail labourer.

Union Workhouse Madron, Cornwall (photo taken in 1990s). This is the place of residence for Mary when she died in 1859. It was the Penzance Union for the town and the surrounding parishes. It was located in the village of Madron.
