Joseph Pool

Baptised: 27 Apr 1787 Where?

Died: 7 Apr 1820

Buried: 11 Apr 1820 Crowan, Cornwall

Occupation: Miller. Initially working as a miller at his father’s mill in Crowan and later at Ponsanooth.

In 1810 Mary received 200 pounds from the will of her father and 10 pounds from her uncle Richard in 1811. Perhaps with this money they were then able to take out the lease of Tregosse Mill. In August 1810 Joseph and his father took from Henry Harvey, of St Erth and Hayle Foundry a 14 year lease of Tregosse Mill in Gluvais parish ( in the Kennal Valley near Ponsanooth). Joseph and his wife then moved there, his father being named as co-lessee presumably in order to guarantee the rent.
