It seems that when John was very elderly he may have gone into the workhouse as his last residence was Mount View, Madron (which is where the Penzance Union workhouse was located). He died 21 Dec 1923 at the ‘County Lunatic Asylum, Bodmin’ aged 86 years. His cause of death was ‘Senile Decay’ – ? Dementia.
