Her husband Joseph first visited the US at the time of the 1901 English census. It is not known how long or where Joe was in the US at that time but it is assumed it would have been Arizona. He did come back to Cornwall and bring his family out to settle in Globe City. After a few years in Globe City they decided to move back to Cornwall.
In 1881 Mary is a 6 year old school student .

By the 1891 Census Mary is 16 and most probably helping Mum at home .

The 1901 Census was taken on 31 March. At this time Mary was married to Joseph Wall and Joe was abroad in the USA. Their first child Florence was two months old.

Joseph, Mary, children & Joseph Perrow Hicks move to the USA in 1909 settling in Globe City, Arizona.

By the 1910 US Census Joseph & Mary were living at 379 Tonto Street, Globe City, Gila County, Arizona. Joe’s brother Edward was lodging with them.
