The 1850 US Census for Cromwell Township in the County of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania reveals that John Wesley Sampson was only one month old at the time of the census.

John’s childhood environment was on the family farm. By the time of the 1860 US Census he was 10 years of age and had been attending school.

The 1870 US Census reveals that John had commenced working as a wagon maker.

The 1880 US Census reveals that John was still working as a wagon maker, had married Mary Clarke and started a family.

By the 1910 John and Mary were living in the small town of Weldon with John employed at a Druggist .
