Not that much is known about Thomas. No baptism record has been found for Thomas in the Cornish records. Thomas would have been about 7 years of age when he made the sea voyage to South Australia with his family in 1847. His death certificate entry indicates that he was 25 years of age at the time of death. Thomas resided in Kooringa and was a bookkeeper. The cause of death is given as a disease of the heart. Thomas was buried in his parents plot in the Burra Cemetery. The gravesite is intact and can be seen on a visit to the town.
