Lizzie Sampson 1871-1875

On the south side of her grandparent’s headstone the name Lizzie has been engraved. The Batavia Cemetery records Lizzie’s birth and death dates. It is assumed that Lizzie was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Sampson as Sarah provides information in the 1910 US Federal Census that she had a total of eight children of which six were still alive at that time. So the two children who died young were Lizzie in 1875 and her brother Samuel Vernon who died in 1885 and whose name is engraved on the north side of his grandparent’s headstone. Lizzie lived and died inbetween the state and national censuses and thus her name does not appear in any of those records.
