Breage – Germoe Family Groupings

This page is dedicated to identifying family groups based on the parish records for Breage. It needs to be stated that these groupings are based on some assumptions due to the lack of information we have and no doubt there will need to be corrections. If you find what you believe to be a mistake then please contact. Unless otherwise stated, the dates given below are for Breage.

The earliest recording for the Sampson family occurs in the marriage records for Thomas Sampson and Dorothea Cara who marry on 3 Nov 1612.

It is noted that Thomas and Tobiae are not the same name but it is assumed that they are the same person as they have a wife named Dorothea and are having children around the same time frame.
Assumed Thomas the husband of Dorothea is buried 25 Aug 1640. He was the son of a Thomas Sampson.

Radulphus Sampson (thought to be a brother of Thomas listed above as both lived at Kenneggy) and Jana Perro marry 8 Nov 1629

Grace Sampson 20 Mar 1641. Some family trees in Ancestry have Grace marrying Nathaniel Meager/Magor in 1655 but there appears to be no marriage record. Grace Meager is buried 17 May 1697. 

Jane Sampson is buried 17 Sep 1692 and is described as Widow from Kenegy therefore Ralph died before 1692 but no record given for this.

John Cara marries Margaret Sampson (assumed to be daughter of Thomas & Dorothea Sampson) 13 Feb 1646. The following children are baptised:

Margaret is buried 21 Oct 1698 with note daughter of Jno. However note another burial for Margaret Cara 21 Jun 1690 wife of John – this also fits.

Jane Sampson a daughter of Richard and Mary is baptised 5 Jun 1682 at Germoe. This is first time the name Richard appears in the Parish records. Richard is buried 27 Mar 1695.
